OBITUARY

Ruth E. Jay, 88, of Fairmont, W.Va., formerly of Fredericktown, passed away peacefully Friday, July 1, 2016, in the home of her daughter, Kathryn, with whom she resided, with her family by her side.
She was born February 4, 1928, in Millsboro. She lived in the Fredericktown area until three years ago, when she moved to Fairmont.
Mrs. Jay attended East Bethlehem Schools.
She was employed for more than 15 years at the former Italian Maid Bakery in West Brownsville. She retired when it closed.
Mrs. Jay was married to Gilbert E. King, who died in December 1960. From this union were born seven children. Following her husband's death, she wed Harvey Jay. Together, they had three children. She was a loving mother.
She was a member of Calvary Chapel Church, Fredericktown.
Surviving are eight children, Ruth Ann Wolfe, Harry D. King, Charles L. (Vera) King, Elma M. (Gary) Adams, Kathryn L. Stewart, Harvey (Cindy) Jay, Richard (Melissa) Jay and Barbara A. White; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are her mother and stepfather, Mabel and Lindsey Price; a brother, Roger Smith; a daughter, Edna King Gallo; a son, Roger King; and a grandson, Shawn Jay.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Frank Burkus Funeral Home, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro, PA 15348, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, with Pastor John Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Frank Burkus Funeral Home, Millsboro
